PSL Service Project

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

Our PSL got to stay after school last Friday and tie blankets as a service project for those in need! They also got to have a treat and play a left/right game. Way to synergize PSL and provide for others!

November Grade Level Counseling Lesson

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

In Mrs. J’s monthly grade level counseling lesson, students learned about the word “perspective”. Teachers were asked to come up to the front of the room and try to slice a piece of bread so that it only had one side. No one could do it!!! The teachers got to pick a yummy topping for their bread. When the teacher held up the bread so that they were looking at their side with the yummy toppings, the students still just saw a plain piece of bread. But when we “reframed” what we were looking at we could see both side.

Thanksgiving Festivities

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

Right before the Thanksgiving break, Mrs. Taylor's first grade class had a Turkey day. They made turkey headbands and even learned how to make homemade butter by shaking the cream for their dinner rolls. When the class returned from lunch, they found out that their dinner rolls had been stolen! They spent their math time figuring out the mystery of the stolen dinner rolls by solving problems to get clues. It was such a great day for first grade.
