In Mrs. J’s monthly grade level counseling lesson, students learned about the word “perspective”. Teachers were asked to come up to the front of the room and try to slice a piece of bread so that it only had one side. No one could do it!!! The teachers got to pick a yummy topping for their bread. When the teacher held up the bread so that they were looking at their side with the yummy toppings, the students still just saw a plain piece of bread. But when we “reframed” what we were looking at we could see both side. Students leaned that no matter how thin you slice it, there’s always 2 side to every story. Ask your student about what they learned about perspective and reframing.
