Halloween Parade

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

We LOVE doing a Halloween Parade and we are so excited that you come to watch each year.
Our parade will be at a different time, so that we don't have the chaos of trying to check
students out. Please DO NOT come into the school before or after the parade. Your help in
staying out of the building, helps me to ensure student safety. Thanks for your cooperation!
We will begin our Halloween Parade promptly at 9:00 am. We will exit the front doors of the
school and begin heading east on 100 North. At 700 East, we will turn and head south. At

Spirit Friday!

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

Our new Park Panther t-shirts came in this week and we waited to hand them out to the students until this morning! Every class earned 100% school spirit  so we made sure to document them all in their new shirts. We then put all the classes into a drawing and Mrs. Hunt's class won the privilege of having Parker the Panther come join them for the next week. This was such a fun day at school and the students now have a school shirt to wear every Friday!

Park's Report Card

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

At the end of the school year in 2018, Park Elementary was notified that we were being put on CSI status (Comprehensive Support Improvement) and had been given an "F" grade on our report card. For the last 3 years, our teachers and students have been working so hard to reach, maintain and Try 100 in all their areas of studies. Teachers were given instructions and feedback constantly to apply in their classrooms to help our students set new goals and achieve greater success. This has not been an easy process.

Fifth graders got to participate in a NOVA lesson warning about the dangers of being under the influence. They had fun trying to make their way through an obstacle course while wearing "drunk goggles".

Veteran's Day Slideshow

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

For Veterans Day in November, we would like to share a slideshow with our students that
includes any family members that have served or are serving in the Armed Forces! We have a
slideshow that has been created throughout the years. If you have shared in the past couple of
years we should still have your information and you do not need to send it again. If you are
fairly new to Park, and you haven’t sent anything, we would love to have you do so if you would
like to. Please include a picture, the Veteran’s name, relation to the student, and where and

Fall Family Reading Night

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

Fall family reading night was a HUGE success this year! We loved seeing all of our staff, students, and their families at this event and we hope that you all enjoyed the stories that were read/watched that night. Each student was able to go home with a book of their own choice and the family went home with a swag bag of treats, reading ideas and the Book "I Promise" written by LeBron James as well as a large pepperoni pizza for dinner that night. We would like to thank Papa Murphey's for their time and efforts in producing the pizzas for us to make it possible for each family!
