A theater class from UVU came to Park Elementary and presented a play called Honk! Honk! is a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story The Ugly Duckling, incorporating a message of tolerance and self-esteem. The musical is set in the countryside and features Ugly, a duckling who is rejected by everyone but his mother, Ida; a sly tomcat who wants to eat Ugly; and other barnyard creatures.
It was wonderful and most classes were able to attend. The students loved the music and dancing. The UVU students sent home a flyer with information about workshops this summer that students could sign up for. They offer many scholarships to students who can not afford it.
