Here is February WHAP from Mrs. Hughes!
Our 5th grade students had the opportunity to compete in a school science fair. Several students decided to take the challenge and showed us their amazing ideas last week. Three winners were chosen to represent Park Elementary at the the Nebo District Science Fair coming up soon and we are so excited for them. Congratulations 5th grade participants on a job well done and for all your hard work!
Winners:
Kimberly, Eleanor and Brylee
Nebo principals were nominated by their peers for each award. This year, Mrs. Hughes was awarded the Instructional Leader of the year! These principals will represent Nebo School District and submit applications to the Utah Association of Elementary School Principals (UAESP). Principal Garrett Andersen said, “It is always a great opportunity to award these honors each year and to be able to recognize the great things our Nebo principals do each and every day.”
Registration dates will be March 21st for returning families and April 11 for New to Nebo students. If you have a returning family that will have a Kindergarten student, they will be able to register that student in their portal starting March 21. All other Kindergarten students will be on April 11 with the New to Nebo.

Can we count to 1000? Prove it! These 2nd graders helped Mrs. Moss count a box of 1000 craft sticks and it turns out there were 80 extra in the box auto make a grand total of 1,080! It also turns out that 1000 sticks are heavy and hard to hold, but we CAN DO HARD THINGS!
As a reminder, last month we focused on keeping your child safe with technology and limiting screen
time. Especially, in light of current events, setting limits on how much time is spent with
devices/screens and what content your student is ingesting is becoming increasingly important.
Research has shown the connection and correlation between screen time and content with anxiety,
depression, ADHD, ability to focus, academic performance, social skills...the list goes on. To sum it up,
4th grade got to take a field trip to the state capitol yesterday! They had an amazing time and learned many interesting facts and history about the state capitol building.
