Super Bowl Reading

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

The fifth grade got ready for the Super Bowl by reading a ton! Each class was drafted to a team and had to help their team make touchdowns by reading each night. In both fifth grade classes, the Chiefs won - maybe we helped them this past Sunday!?! In Mrs. Andersen's class, Madi read 31 hours over the two weeks to become our Most Valuable Reader. We had a couple of honorable mentions as well. One thing we learned is that we are all winners when we read!

District Science Fair

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

We had six students from Park participate in the district science fair. They all did amazing presenting to several judges. We are so proud of them for sharing their knowledge with others and for working hard. Brinley Boyd and Ezra Bliss will be moving onto the Regional Science Fair next month at BYU. Good luck to them!

Fossils in 1st Grade

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

The first graders have been having fun learning about the history of the earth during our CKLA Knowledge domain.  They’ve learned about the layers of the earth, minerals, rocks, fossils, and dinosaurs.   The first graders got to see cool fossils.  Thanks to Mrs. Jensen for bringing them in to share.  The students also got to experience edible rocks.  They also got to act like a paleontologist while digging fossils.  They were each given a chocolate chip cookie and a toothpick.  They used their toothpick to dig out the chocolate chip fossils.

Arts in the Park

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

Our Arts in the Park gallery turned out better than we could have ever imagined! Our students are truly talented and we had amazing pieces to show our parents during SLC's! Congratulations to Charley and Nicolle for being our best in show award winners. We want to thank all the faculty and staff who helped teach mini art classes, setup and organizing the art into different categories. We especially want to thank all of our students for their hard work and dedication to creating and sharing their art talents with us and their community. Great job Park Panthers!

Happy Birthday!

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

Happy Birthday Mrs. Gadd! Mrs. Gadd works hard to organize, maintain, and track our take-home library materials. She collects books from students every day and swaps them out with new books to fit their reading levels and interests. We are so lucky to have her as a part of our Park team. Have the best birthday today Mrs. Gadd!

Kings & Queens Day

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

Last week, kindergarten had a kings and queens day. Ms. Holyoak was able to capture her students in some of their fun activities for the day. The students got to wear their best dress, make their own crowns and attend a tea party! What a fun day.

Happy Birthday Ms. Dunn! Ms. Dunn teaches 2nd grade here at Park and is a veteran teacher full of amazing experiences and a perspective that is hard to match. She puts so much time and energy into her students and the lessons provided to them. Ms. Dunn is easygoing and is flexible when asked to teach new programs or material, and is always willing to learn. We hope you have the best day Ms. Dunn!
