5th Grade - Freedom Walk

Submitted by bristi.poulson on

Our fifth graders were able to enjoy a day at the sports park honoring our veterans. They heard from a variety of speakers from our armed forces throughout the day, and were reminded of the sacrifices that have been given for our freedom. We are so thankful that our students were able to participate, and were able to learn from these veterans. We thank them for their service.

Keyboarding Championship Winners

"Fast fingers" is one phrase you could use to describe this group of students. They participated in a keyboarding competition at school and beat out the rest of the 4th and 5th grade students to move on to the district keyboarding championship!

Great job, Park Panthers!!!

Reading Rodeo

Submitted by bristi.poulson on

It's time to start reading! We are doing our annual reading challenge this month. Each student needs to read 300 minutes by the end of April in order to meet our school wide reading minutes goal. If we reach our school wide minute goal, one student from each class will get to soak their teacher in water. Also, a student from each grade will win rodeo tickets to the Spanish Fork Rodeo this summer.

"Save Sam" in Mrs. Taylor's 2nd Grade Class

Submitted by bristi.poulson on

It looks like Mrs. Taylor's class had a great time learning about habit 6! "I taught a lesson on Habit 6- Synergize. We did the following activity called Save Sam. It was a huge hit with the students. Under the cup was Sam's life preserver (gummy Lifesaver). On top of the cup was Sam (gummy worm). They each had a paper clip. They couldn't touch anything with their hands, they could only use the paper clip. The object was to grab Sam, turn over the boat (cup), and put the life preserver onto Sam. There couldn't be any stabbing with the paper clips.
