Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Mrs. Smithee's 4th grade class held a Mt. Man Rendezvous on Feb. 12th.  They have been studying Utah Mt. Men in Social Studies this school year.  The students dressed up like Mt. Men and participated in activities such as: pin the tail on the beaver, a stick pull and arm wrestling. We want to thank  Mrs. Olsen, Mrs. Powell, Mrs. Graham and Mrs. Palmer for helping us with the activity rotations, and to Mr. Elmer for cheering us on. We all had a skookum(good) time!

On January 21st the 4th grade students presented 3 mini-operas.  Each opera is written by the students, the props and set design and the costuming is done by the students with some teacher and parent help.

The operas were based on events in Utah history.  Mrs. Smithee's class presented: "The Midnight Mystery" a pioneer story.  Mrs. Perschon's class presented: "The Watches of Time" a time travel opera to Thistle, Utah.  Mr. Hales' class presented: "The Pony Express" a wild west adventure.
