Writing Lessons

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

Mrs. Taylor’s class was so lucky to have Mrs. McEntire come and do some gradual release writing lessons.  The students learned what good writers do and how to make their story more interesting by adding describing words.  The students finished up the week of writing by writing their own memory story.

Scholastic Book Fair Rewards

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

Our last Scholastic book fair had the rewards being given back to our school library. Your generosity through our book fair sales earned us quite the assortment of books! We have books that are great for all grade levels and will help our students stay excited about reading because books that they have requested are now on our shelves. Thank you to all who helped make this possible!

March Madness of Books

Submitted by sheree.storrer on

Fifth grade started reading some picture books each day in March. Our goal was to choose the BEST book in the bunch. We found a ton of books we enjoyed, but our favorite was Norman Didn’t Do It (Yes, he did!). If you haven’t had a chance to read it, check it out at the library and get immersed in a story about a special friendship. We sure loved the lesson Norman learned.
