White Ribbon week was a great success this year, thanks to Jen Brown from Park Elementary's PTA. White Ribbon Week teaches students the importance of Internet safety and to make smart decisions while online.
The theme for this year was "Let's Get Real!" Students learned that not everything online is as real as it appears to be and were given daily reality boosts to help them to be safe when using the Internet. These boosts encouraged swapping media time for real-life experiences, telling a trusted adult right away if something doesn't seem right, and using technology to show kindness.
Parents were invited to a special meeting explaining many of these important guidelines for students to follow at home and at school.
We hope students will apply the lessons learned this week into their lives and to be safe online.
