Sixth Grade Field Trip

Experimental Theatre, Heroes, and Dinosaurs is what Brigham Young University had to offer the 6th Grade students of Park Elementary.  On February 7th, the sixth grade students enjoyed watching Henry V in the Nelke Theatre in the Harris Fine Arts Center. This was an experimental theatre experience.  The actors interacted with the audience and worked hard to make Shakespeare come to life for those in attendance.

After a lunch break, the students walked to the Museum of Art.  The students were divided into two groups.  One group went to the Andy Worhal exhibit and the other group went to the Heroes exhibit.  The students enjoyed looking at the unique art work in both exhibits.  The Museum of Art generously gave each student a free calendar to remind them of their visit.

After the visit to the Museum of Art, the group hopped back on the bus and traveled a short distance down to the Museum of Paleontology.  Students had the opportunity to listen to short presentation about the different dinosaur bones, rocks, and fossils in exhibit throughout the museum.  The highlight of the trip was touring the Paleontology Lab where students work to uncover dinosaur bones and fossils that have been brought in from dig sites.

The sixth grade students had a full day.  We are grateful to the Center for European Studies for proving a grant to pay for our transportation.
