On January 21st the 4th grade students presented 3 mini-operas.  Each opera is written by the students, the props and set design and the costuming is done by the students with some teacher and parent help.

The operas were based on events in Utah history.  Mrs. Smithee's class presented: "The Midnight Mystery" a pioneer story.  Mrs. Perschon's class presented: "The Watches of Time" a time travel opera to Thistle, Utah.  Mr. Hales' class presented: "The Pony Express" a wild west adventure.

Everyone had an enjoyable time getting ready for the big event, painting backdrops, props, putting together costumes and singing, singing and more singing.

This program is sponsored by Opera by Children, which is an Educational Outreach Program of the Utah Festival Opera Company in Logan, Utah.  The Park School 4th grade teachers would like to thank Longview Fibre of Spanish Fork for generously donating cardboard, so that we could make the sets for the operas.
