“Aruba, Jamaica, ooh 5th Grade wants to take ya… on their Cruise Day.” Well, it wasn’t exactly Kokomo, even though that is where we would wanna go, fifth grade students enjoyed themselves nonetheless.
Students worked all through the month of May to earn enough points to go on the cruise on May 27th. Activities included visiting 7 different "islands" and working on different writing activities, art, and math tasks. The afternoon included a "beach day" with their first grade reading buddies where they shared stories while relaxing on their beach towels and enjoying a Popsicle.
Although students may be dreaming of Key Largo or Montego or even a trip to the snow shack, they are hard at work these past few days to finish out a successful and fun fifth grade year.
